Reasons why major paint manufacturers do not enter

Conclusion

It will take more than 10 years  for major paint manufacturers to start R &D and put it to practical use.

It will take too long time to marketing and R &D.
・The exposure test necessary for R &D is possible from May to September. There is a lot of ultraviolet rays from May to September.
・We started R &D about 50 years ago, and developed undercoat paint which is strong adhesion with the cast iron, Injection Epoxy which is strong adhesion with the undercoat and topcoat paint which is strong adhesion with Injection Epoxy with repeated failures. The last 5 years have finally been to supply stably.

Paint market in Japan
・Paint for cars, house and shipbuilding occupies over 60%, but paint for colored manhole covers is less than 1 % (about 30t per year).
・They can earn profits more efficiently on markets for cars, house and shipbuilding.
・There is almost no M &A in paint manufacturer. Because small manufacturers are needed by small market.

Problems about production lot and toning
・It is very difficult for major manufacturer to manufacture small lot at the research and development stage for market less than 30t per year.

・Our manufacturer Million Paint can manufacture 1 can. But minimum lot of major manufacturer must be over 100 cans. Because the kettle for manufacturing paints is very big.

・Toning for free-solvent paint requires technology. We consider major manufacturer cannot acquire the technology immediately and tonning small lot. And it is difficult for them to align primary color.
